About Us

On Q Productions company started in 2001 with a mission to produce classic, contemporary and original performance creations that reflect the minority experience, especially that of the African American.

Quentin Talley 

   (Producer/Director)

"Q"

Quentin "Q" Talley began acting in Greenwood, SC in community, high school and church theater productions.  He continued training at Winthrop University where he seriously began writing poetry, performing as a Slam Poet, and directing stage productions. 

He has performed throughout the country at the Nyroucian Poets Society (New York, NY), Bowery (New York, NY), Austin Poetry Club (Austin, Texas), Tampa Slam (Tampa, Florida), and Durham Bull City Slam (Durham, NC). Placed 12th in 2006 at the Individual World Poetry Slam, 2nd in the nation with team Slam Charlotte at the National Poetry Slam in 2005, and is a two time Southernfried regional champion, in 2005 & 2007. He was has also appeared in the open door Borders Poetry series and the Turner South network. 

"Q" also performed throughout the country as poet at many colleges and universities, University North Carolina at Charlotte, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, College of Charleston, Western Carolina University, University of Hawaii, and University of Florida at Saint Pete.   He has shared the stage with Bishop Desmond Tutu, Nikki Giovanni, CeLo, MC Lyte, Ted Turner and Tavis Smiley.

Quentin’s directing honors  include, the Death of the Last Black Man in the Whole Entire World, The Dutchman, In The Blood, Reflections 9/11,Day of Absence, Yellow Man and For Colored Girls Who Considered Suicide When the Rainbow was Enuf.

 


                          Aisha Dew

(Production Manager)

Ms. Dew, a graduate of Salem College with a BA in Arts Administration, is an actress, director, and producer who received training from Wake Forest University, Yale University School of Drama and Acting Coach, and Acting Coach Craig Wroe. Aisha founded the Hall Neighborhood House Performing Arts Program located in Bridgeport CT,
which exposed over ten thousand children and parents to the arts as
audience members and active participants over a five-year period.

She was also the Regional Director of Wolf Trap Early Learning through the
Arts for Connecticut. World - renowned, Wolf Trap is the only national park dedicated to the arts, located in Vienna Virginia (outside of Washington, DC), with 20 affiliate programs around the
country. She is a graduate of the United Way of Eastern Fairfield County's – Project Blueprint (2003) and is the recipient of the Greater Bridgeport NAACP Special Service Award (2004).  Ms. Dew has produced and directed over 15 productions and events including, Father Panik Village: The Untold Story, The Wiz, and Celebrate Bridgeport: A Barnum Festival Event.  She recently directed Belles at Salem College and the regional premiere of Top Dog, Underdog for Carolina Actor's Studio in Charlotte, NC. Dew has also performed in over the 20 productions, most recently she performed in On Q' s Day of Absence and GM Productions, A Month of Sunday's : Celebrating Women.  She received a nomination for Best Director and Best Sound Design from the Metrolina Theater Association and a nomination for Newcomer of the Year from Creative Loafing - Charlotte.
